Charles Leclerc has once again taken a self-critical stance following a challenging weekend at the 2025 Formula 1 British Grand Prix held at Silverstone. The Scuderia Ferrari driver was unable to finish in the points after a race marked by a risky strategic call and tense, emotionally charged radio communications with the pit wall. Reflecting on his own behavior during the race, the Monegasque driver admitted that his emotions and his deep desire to deliver strong results sometimes get the better of him in high-pressure situations.
“Listening back to the radio communications with the team, I have to admit they were not my best moments,” Charles Leclerc confessed. “Maybe from home it seems entertaining, but for me, it was nothing more than frustration and stress. When you really care about what you do and want to bring home a good result, sometimes you say things that, in hindsight, you don’t really agree with once your emotions settle.”
The Ferrari driver also expressed regret for missing out on scoring valuable points at Silverstone. He admitted that his performance in qualifying is still not at the level he wants it to be, often leaving too much potential untapped on Saturday, while on Sundays the team typically manages to build something more consistent. “I’m disappointed for missing the opportunity to score points,” Charles Leclerc said. “The truth is, I still leave too much on the table in qualifying, while on race day we usually manage to put together something solid. But today, every small detail came at a high cost, and that’s painful.”
Charles Leclerc also took the opportunity to recognize the efforts being made by the Ferrari team back at Maranello to improve the performance of the SF-25 car. He acknowledged the hard work being put into bringing new updates to the track and expressed hope that the next developments could mark a turning point. “Everyone is giving their all to accelerate the development of upgrades,” he said. “If the updates arrive in time, they could really make a big difference to our performance. I hope they’ll allow us to take a solid step forward.”
Although Charles Leclerc ended the British Grand Prix with clear disappointment, his post-race comments, as always, revealed not only his unwavering determination but also his growing awareness of the need for greater composure and clarity during critical moments on race weekends.
